Since the beginning of 2019, we have been very busy and one of our most rewarding projects this year has been our involvement with the Mid-Sussex STEM Drone Challenge.
With a set budget of £500, the students presented a business proposal to a panel of judges and illustrated how and why they would like to bring a drone to market for commercial use.
We advised the young aviators at Beacon Academy, Crowborough, of the rules and regulations that we adhere to as Professional CAA Approved Commercial Drone Pilots; which immediately elevated their position in the competition, proving to be a key element in the preparation for the practical flight test. The team illustrated how to perform a UAV flight test safely and put together an excellent business case which was received very positively.
See a video of students, Alfie and Sam as they practise their skills with Ed Paterson, from Adventure Dog Productions, and other professional pilots from the local area, with a range of heavy lifting drones used for aerial videography and aerial inspection services.
We were very proud to be able to pass our knowledge to the future pilots of tomorrow and look forward to working with Beacon Academy in further projects to come.
